Client: Mount Temple Comprehensive School
Project Description: Mount Temple Comprehensive School required emergency external Works to be undertaken during the Summer Break to be compliant with the TGD Part M – Access and Use. These Works included the construction of 3 no. external access ramps, repair and replacement of surface car parking. We successfully submitted a tender and prior to commencement of Works our Project Manager visited site and identified an alternative solution which proposed 1 no. flight of external stairs to be omitted and a new ramp, laid to the existing contours, to be constructed in lieu. This proposal eliminated the requirement for handrails and balustrading, substantial excavation works and construction of steps consequently benefiting the client in both financial savings and shortening of initial programme. This proposal was welcomed and approved by the Client and the Design Team and successfully executed within the strict programme requirements.
